View your rates account online

If your property is in the former Auckland City Council area you can sign-up to view your rates information online using the igovt logon service.

The igovt service provides you with a secure logon to ensure your details and privacy are protected.

You will be able to view your current rates information for all properties you own in central Auckland. It shows your rates instalment due date and the remaining balance for each instalment.

Registering for logon services is a four step process

  1. Get an igovt logon (username and password) to start the registration process. If you already have a GLS or igovt logon (username and password), logon now and register to access your personal logon services.
  2. Register for access to personal logon services After successfully entering your igovt username and password, you will be directed to the logon services registration screen. Complete the personal logon services registration form with:
    • your name
    • email
    • property address the rates are paid against
    • the rates assessment number (from your rates notice).

    We check your registration details against the name on the rates account to ensure that we provide the information to the owner of that property.

  3. Allow up to two weeks for acceptance of your logon service registration
    We will confirm your registration details against the property rates account and send you a letter with an activation code. You should receive this confirmation within two weeks of registration. Please contact us if you registered more than two weeks ago and have not yet received your letter.
  4. Log on and complete registration
    Once you have received the letter:
    • logon with your igovt user name and password
    • enter the activation code (from the letter)
    • click Activate.
    A list of all the properties you own in central Auckland will be displayed.

    Ongoing use of personal logon services

    Each time you wish to view your rates online, access the personal logon services and enter your igovt user name and password.

    About the igovt logon service

    The igovt logon service is an all-of-government shared service. It provides a highly secure logon service for people and organisations using government services over the Internet.

    Igovt is designed to allow registered users to use the same logon for all participating government agencies without their identity being shared.

    You can go to the igovt website for assistance with your igovt logon (such as re-setting your password or changing your email address). You can use their online self service, email or phone them on 0800 457 4357 (0800 GLS HELP).
