Franklin District Plan

The Franklin District Plan is a legal document. We are required to prepare a district plan under the Resource Management Act 1991 and Franklin's District Plan became operative on February 29, 2000. The district plan helps us as a district to manage our natural and built resources.

The district plan provides a single set of resource management provisions that apply to all rural and urban areas in the district's territorial boundaries. Some of the provisions may affect you if you are wanting to build, subdivide or change the use of your land.

You can view the district plan, in parts.
