COVID-19 Alert Level 2 - ​Food, health and environmental health licence information

Remote and site visits will take place with the required health and safety measures in place.

We will undertake verifications of new and existing food businesses on site with COVID-19 risk management practices in place. Follow-up visits will also be undertaken if required.

We will continue to process digital applications. We will resume accepting, assessing, approving, granting and issuing alcohol and food licences and other applications in hard copy. We will accept online and hard copy applications for registrations, national programmes and template food control plans.

Customer meetings, interviews and advice will be undertaken by email, phone or online conferencing (e.g. Skype) where possible.

We are continuing to respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Service (RFS). Most requests will be risk assessed and investigated remotely. Officers will undertake site visits if needed to investigate food safety and public health issues representing a high risk or high harm to public health.
