Going West Books and Writers Festival 2011

2011 event

The 16th annual west Auckland literary festival, the Going West Books and Writers Festival 2011 celebrated New Zealand books, writing and ideas.

We evoked memories of Allen Curnow, whose birth centenary was celebrated in 2011. The theme was Landfall in Unknown Seas and we wondered at our slender hold on this shaky isle in its vast southern ocean.

During August and September, the west of the city became a hotbed of literary discussion, debate, oration and performance.

Join us to see New Zealand literature in action in 2012.
