Walkways

Take some time out and venture to one of the many walks found within the Auckland region. Walks range from vast open space and panoramas, to native bush tracks or experience the invigorating weather and spectacular views along a coastline.

Take a friend or your kids, and get out to enjoy a bush walk, explore the many parks, follow a coastline or take a streamside walk.

Nationally recognised walks within the Auckland region include:

  • Te Araroa - The Long Pathway - a tramping trail from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south, which traverses through the Auckland region.
  • The Hillary Trail connects a network of regional park tracks and basic backpacker campgrounds through the Waitākere Ranges and west coast beaches.
