Auckland City Cultural Heritage

The purpose of the Auckland City Cultural Heritage Fund is to help people conserve, restore and protect aspects of Auckland City's cultural heritage, including built, archaeological and Maori heritage.

This fund is open to applications for heritage projects within the former Auckland City Council isthmus boundaries.

To be eligible, heritage resources must be scheduled for protection in the Auckland Council District Plan (Auckland City), or registered with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

Examples of projects that have been funded in the past include, roof replacement works for heritage buildings, maintenance of heritage trees, preparation of conservation documentation and architectural plans and resource consent fee reimbursement.

Funding is not available for projects related to the servicing of debt, routine building maintenance, additions and/or extensions to existing buildings or for the production of heritage brochures or other interpretation.
