Auckland International Buskers Festival

Auckland International Buskers Festival.

Auckland’s 15th Annual International Buskers Festival will be showcasing nine of the most spectacular street performers on earth.

The Auckland International Buskers Festival returns for the fifteenth time, to overload your senses, with performers from all over the globe, including Spain, New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK, Mexico and Australia! Our crazy performers will knock your socks off when you take to the streets of Auckland’s Waterfront this Anniversary weekend.
Juggling, dancing, comedy, bike tricks, hoops, fire and acrobatics. Our performers will leave you stunned and flabbergasted. Get ready to meet:

  • FireGuy (Canada) is ready to make a total “ASH” out of himself mixing fire stunts and skateboard tricks at the same time.
  • Mario Queen of the Circus (USA) has a unique mix of complex juggling tricks and universal sex appeal that can only find release in the arena-rocking anthems of his favourite super group, Queen.
  • Becky Hoops (Canada) charms and cracks up her public combining absurd characters and her many hula hoops.
  • Pancho Libre (Mexico) is a highly energetic, skilled acrobat who will have you hooked with impossible feats of strength and danger.
  • Eddy Eighty (Spain) has a dream to bring 80’s music to the circus world! And he’s made it happen with a unique show that combines love, humour and circus!
  • Bike Boy (Australia) mixes amazing bicycle stunts, incredible juggling tricks and his spontaneous, zany humour to put on a thrilling, fearless funny show.
  • Bendy Em (UK), a pint-sized entertainer, formerly a national gymnast and dancer, will have you on the edge of your seat as she comedically bends and contorts her body into freakily mind-boggling positions.
  • Fraser Hooper (NZ/UK) returns with another mesmeric mime show with classic ingredients of hilarious audience involvement, ridiculous routines and a complete disregard for his own safety.
  • Justin Sane (Australia) is influenced by the vaudevillians of yesteryear and combines improvisation, juggling, magic and high skill unicycle to create his unique brand of physical comedy.

The Festival is comprised of six sites spread over Auckland’s Waterfront. Sites include Viaduct Harbour, Downtown (Lower Queen Street), Princes Wharf, Karanga Plaza (Wynyard Quarter) and our newest site Queens Wharf.
The night shows in Market Square, Viaduct Harbour have been part of the festival since 2003 and are a great way to socialise with friends whilst enjoying good outdoor dining in a fun and comical environment.
So empty your piggy bank, pockets and swear jar, and head down to Auckland’s Waterfront to be wowed by some of the best Street Performers on the planet.

From the Viaduct to Queens Wharf, the streets will be transformed into a playground for some of the world’s most talented street performers. Come experience a world of the weird and absurd at the 2015 International Buskers Festival over Auckland’s Anniversary Weekend - 23 to 26 January.
