Paying your rates

Credit card

Please note: When paying online by credit card, you may receive two confirmation emails. This does not mean that payment has been processed twice. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

You can pay your rates online with Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards.

Online services temporarily unavailable

Between 7pm-8pm on Wednesday 19 June 2013.

Auckland Council's online services will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. This will affect parks credit card transactions, paying library fines online, Waitakere online payments and the Waitakere inorganic rubbish collection online service.

Work is due to be completed by Wednesday 19 June 2013.

Fees

An online convenience fee of 2.0 per cent per transaction will apply. A minimum online convenience fee of $2.50 applies to all card types. The fee is at the Banks discretion and is subject to change.

Auckland Council does not receive any part of this fee and it will appear as a separate transaction on your credit card statement.

Check with your credit card issuer for any other fees or charges that may apply. This credit card transaction is carried out in terms of the arrangement between you and your credit card issuer. 

 

Processing time

Be sure to allow time before your payment due date for processing the transaction. If you make your payment before 10.30pm New Zealand time your payment will appear in your Auckland Council rates account the following business day. Transactions after 10.30pm will appear after two working days.

Currency conversion

If you make a payment with a credit card issued outside New Zealand, any currency conversion will be done in accordance with the terms and conditions of the card. Your card issuer may charge currency conversion fees.

You will be emailed payment confirmation if you provide an email address.

Auckland Council does not collect or save credit card information.

After searching for your property and entering a payment amount you will be directed to a secure PCI compliant web page hosted by DPS (Direct Payment Solutions) to enter payment details.

  1. Search by property address: Enter the full address including any flat numbers eg 3G/100 Greys Avenue. The search is a predictive search, after the first three characters are entered suggestions matching you entry will start to display. If your search is unsuccessful, try searching by rates assessment number.
