Parks, leisure and libraries goals

About these metrics

Regional parks provide great scenic recreational areas, while local parks and our pools and leisure centres encourage Aucklanders to be active within their own neighbourhoods.

Libraries also play an important role, as set out in Te Kauroa – Future Directions, a 10-year plan on meeting the future challenges of population growth and new technologies.

By placing customer needs at the centre of our decisions, we can look at how Auckland libraries can support lifelong learning, provide access to knowledge, and create experiences that are accessible and cost effective.
