About the Māngere Arts Centre

The centre showcases Maori and Pacific visual and performing arts in Auckland.

It nurtures and presents the diversity of arts, crafts and cultural activities that underpin the unique character of Māngere.

Opening hours

Art galleries

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Saturday, 10am to 4pm

Closed on Sundays, public holidays, and for several weeks each year over the Christmas-New Year period.

Note: Art galleries are also open during theatre performances.

Monday to Sunday
9am to 11pm (depending on performances)

Gallery 1 and Gallery 2

The galleries feature a schedule of exhibitions, public programmes, talks and demonstrations by local and national artists.

Foyer Gallery

The Foyer Gallery complements the two main exhibition galleries.

It features five exhibitions per year, each generally running for four weeks.


The theatre has an extensive lighting and audio set-up for performances, workshops, rehearsals and events.

Community Café

The café supports youth development programmes delivered by Affirming Works. Every dollar spent is for the benefit of Māngere youth.
