Burials and cremation services

Status: Reduced services

Our cemetery offices are open with reduced service and by appointment only.

Everyone aged 12 years and three months or older will need a My Vaccine pass to enter our offices. Have your vaccine pass ready to show the team each time you visit.

The offices have limited capacity. Visitors must wear a face covering and maintain 1m physical distancing.

Essential cemetery services continue to operate, in accordance with government guidelines.

Use the NZ COVID Tracer app to scan or check in manually.

Funeral arrangements

For advice on funeral arrangements, contact your local funeral director or funeral home. The Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ) website has helpful information about what to do when your loved one dies.

Burial and chapel services

If vaccine passes are used, burial and chapel services can take place with not limits to the number of people who can attend.

If vaccine passes are not used, burial and chapel services with up to 50 people can take place.

Chapel services may be restricted to fewer numbers where our areas cannot safely accommodate 50 people with 1m distancing in a single defined space.

Cremations

Cremations will continue but bookings must be made prior.

For view the charge services, attendance is restricted to a maximum of 10 persons. The number of people in viewing areas is restricted due to the size and and limited ventilation in view areas.
