Homelessness

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development are the key agency to support anyone in need of a place to stay. If you need emergency accommodation, contact Work and Income: Emergency House - Work and Income in the first instance.

If you have tried WINZ without success, then our housing and outreach partners are:

  • Auckland City Mission
  • Lifewise (central Auckland)
  • Kahui Tu Kaha (north, west, central Auckland)
  • Salvation Army Waitākere (west Auckland)
  • Link People (south Auckland).

During Alert Level 3, Auckland City Mission is open daily from 8am to 11am at 23 Union Street, central Auckland.

They have meal packs to give out to those in need and can connect people to housing and other social support services.
