Key dates for the 2022 local election

Our next local election day is on Saturday 8 October 2022. View the key dates for the local body elections 2022.

If you are enrolled on the parliamentary electoral roll, you can expect to get your voting papers sometime between 16 and 21 September 2022. See How to enrol to vote for more information.

Voting is open from Friday 16 September and closes at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022. See Information for voters for more information about voting.

​* The Electoral Officer is legally required to verify the electoral roll 25 days before election day (8 October 2022). This is stated under section 51 of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and regulation 22 of the Local Electoral Regulations 2001.
