Key dates for the 2022 local election

Our next local election day is on Saturday 8 October 2022. View the key dates for the local body elections 2022.

Now is the right time to consider being a candidate in the local elections.  See How to become a candidate in the 2022 elections for more information.

If you are enrolled on the parliamentary electoral roll, you can expect to get your voting papers sometime between 16 and 21 September 2022. See How to enrol to vote for more information.

Voting will be open from Friday 16 September and closes at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022. See Information for voters for more information about voting.

  • Final electoral roll certified by Electoral Officer
