Candidate's statement
Kia ora e te whānau, ko Bella Ngaere Woodcock Sharp ahau.
I am a passionate wāhine working in conservation on Aotea. I have lived here throughout my life and am grateful to have grown up in a community that cares deeply about its people and environment. I am enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and a motivated collaborator. I have lived abroad, studied in Ōtautahi and have had the privilege of travelling extensively. These experiences have provided me with the tools to embrace many different world views and ideas.
Subsequently, I felt compelled to return home and take on a greater role to serve and empower our community. I support education, youth, local economy, the environment, reduced accessibility costs, well-being and mental health. I am dedicated to facilitating and implementing solutions for the unique challenges we face as an island community. I know that my diverse perspective will compliment the current elected board.
