Tāmaki Ora is Auckland Council's refreshed Māori outcomes framework. It replaces Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau and builds on that foundation to better reflect the needs and aspirations of Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau today.
This framework guides how we plan, invest in, deliver and measure Māori outcomes across the council.
In 2015, a Treaty of Waitangi audit called on Auckland Council to do better for Māori.
Our earlier Māori Responsiveness Framework helped shape Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau. It was fully adopted in 2021 as our first dedicated Māori Outcomes strategy. It has guided our work ever since.
Now, we have refreshed and renamed the strategy.
Tāmaki Ora is a clearer, stronger and more connected framework focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau.
