How to apply for a minor engineering approval

We only accept online applications for minor engineering approvals. Visit one of our libraries with council services for help if you cannot:

• apply online
• provide digital copies of your plans or documents.

Staff will help you make an online application. They may charge an additional fee to scan your documents into our system.

Apply online 

Only use this online form for minor engineering works, such as:

• public stormwater or wastewater connections within the site
• renewal of a public stormwater pipe to the same grade and alignment
• repairing or replacing an isolated section of an existing pipe or manhole
• raising or lowering a public manhole lid
• stormwater pipes that drain to the kerb The edge of a pavement where it drops off to the level of the road.
• building over a stormwater pipe.

What happens next 

  We aim to process engineering plan approvals within 20 working days. Approval takes longer when additional information is required.

We will let you know the decision by email.
