If your building activity or project is close to a boundary, and you have the neighbouring owners' written approval, you may apply for a Deemed Permitted Boundary Activity. This application replaces the need to apply for a resource consent for your proposed activity. You may still need to apply for a building consent.
If your boundary is next to a driveway, you will need to get an approval from the neighbour on the other side of that driveway.
You cannot apply for a Deemed Permitted Boundary Activity if you are building close to a public boundary. A public boundary includes a boundary with any of the following:

We only accept online applications for a Deemed Permitted Boundary Activity Notice. If you are unable to apply digitally, visit one of our libraries with council services for assistance in making your online application.
You will need to login to complete the online application and pay by Visa, MasterCard, Online EFTPOS or Account2Account (bank transfer).
If there is no way to provide digital copies of your plans or documents, visit one of our libraries with council services. Our staff will accept your documents for an additional charge. The charge covers costs involved with us scanning your documents into our digital consent system.
