- ensure all dogs are registered
- respond to dog attacks and complaints about barking and stray animals
- provide shelter services, impoundment and care for strays
- reunite lost dogs with their owners
- rehome dogs through our adoption programmes
- provide dog safety education for dog owners, schools and the public
- attend community events to promote dog safety and responsible ownership
- enforce compliance and issue infringements
- patrol beaches, parks and high-risk areas
- prosecute serious dog-related offences under the Dog Control Act.
