Meet the farm animals and see how we farm and care for them.

Experiences

There are pigs to pat, goats to feed, sheep to feel and hens to cluck over.

Children learn about shearing and crutching Removing wool around the tail and between the legs of a sheep to keep them clean. in the wool shed, before exiting as a sheep would - down the sheep chute. Then it's off to the cowshed for a milking demonstration before exploring the farm.

Through observation and interaction with Ambury's loveable animals, children learn bucket-loads about animals including: 

• what they eat
• how they are cared for
• why we farm them.

This programme is particularly suitable for ESOL students as an introduction to New Zealand farming life.
