Kauri trees are unique and under threat.
Spend the day in the Arataki forest and discover first-hand the unique features of kauri, and why they need protecting. Students will have fun replicating the girth of our largest kauri, learn about their amazing adaptations and explore the biodiversity in kauri forests through games and an interactive quiz.
Students explore an 'archeological site' to discover how kauri were valued in the past and pot up a native seedling as they learn how to support our biodiverse kauri forests and prevent kauri dieback disease from spreading.
