Learn how volcanic activity has shaped Auckland's landscape.
Explore the volcanic features of Māngere Mountain, the only intact volcanic cone in the Manukau area.
Students simulate the processes of a volcanic eruption and lava flow and study the impact made by humans on the landscape. At Ambury Farm, they explore a lava cave and consider the hazards that may be created by a localised volcanic eruption - how can these be predicted, managed and the impact minimised on people and the environment?
