Investigate and explore science-based strategies to lessen the effects of climate change, pests and kauri dieback on the Waitākere Ranges.
Tiakitanga (Sci 1.1)
Experiences
Students will investigate the main issues facing the Waitākere Ranges forest ecosystem.
They will discover the differing social, cultural and scientific perspectives on reducing the impacts of these issues through tiakitanga. Guardianship, caring of, protection, upkeep.
Schools choose three local issues from:
- climate change
- introduced pests
- kauri dieback disease
- freshwater stream health.
