The Pest-free Partner programme supports businesses that supply goods or services to the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana. It helps these businesses adopt effective biosecurity practices.
The programme also supports Pest-free Warrant holders to transport high-risk goods to the islands. This ensures strong biosecurity checks are carried out and reduces the risk of pests and pathogens reaching the islands.
Become a Pest-free Partner
Join a network of operators working together to protect the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana islands from harmful pests, including:
- contractors and tradespeople
- marinas, boating facilities
- island accommodation providers
- freight and logistics companies
- garden nurseries and plant suppliers.
As a Pest-free Partner, your business will:
- commit to island biosecurity
- reduce the risk of pests spreading to the Hauraki Gulf Islands
- support a pest-free future for the Hauraki Gulf islands.
There is no fee to become an accredited Pest-free Partner.

- give you access to training and ongoing advice for staff from our biosecurity advisors
- allow you to use the Pest-free Partner logo to show your contribution in protecting the islands
- maintain your high biosecurity standards.
If needed, one of our authorised biosecurity officers from the pest detection dog team will do a site audit and inspection.
