Auckland Council has received the following application for resource consents to demolish all existing buildings and structures and clear the site (147, 149, 151 and 153 Edgewater Drive) to expand the Ambridge Rose Retirement Village and construct two six-storey apartment buildings (Blocks A and B) to provide for 51 independent living units, and associated earthworks and landscaping. A water permit is required for the take and diversion of groundwater associated with the construction and use of the Block A basement carpark.

Details of proposed activity and types of consents
Land use consent to demolish all existing buildings and structures and clear the site (147, 149, 151 and 153 Edgewater Drive) to expand the Ambridge Rose Retirement Village and construct two six storey apartment buildings (Blocks A and B) to provide for 51 independent living units, and associated earthworks and landscaping.
A water permit is required for the take and diversion of groundwater associated with the construction and use of the Block A basement carpark.
The proposal requires resource consent:
- To develop and operate an Integrated Residential Development
- For infringements to the maximum height (Blocks A and B), height in relation to boundary (Blocks A and B), and alternative height in relation to boundary standards (Block A)
- To apply the alternative height in relation to boundary standard (Block B)
- For earthworks
- For infringement to the vehicle crossing, access, gradient, and pedestrian access standards (Operative Plan and Plan Change 79)
- For dwellings, access and infrastructure constructed in a coastal erosion hazard area (Operative Plan and Plan Change 120)
- For groundwater take and diversion associated with the Block A basement carpark.
Overall, based on the lodgement date, the proposal is a Restricted Discretionary activity.
