Auckland Council gives notice that it intends under the Reserves Act 1977 to grant a new community lease, and a landowner approval to the Titirangi Badminton Club Incorporated for a total area of 2400 square meters (more or less) and for the continued operation of the club’s activities. The Titirangi Badminton Club Inc also proposes development measuring 745 sqm (more or less) within their lease area at Kowhai Reserve, Glen Eden. The proposed development will include addition of four badminton courts alongside other amenities.
Part of the land legally described as Pt Lot 2 DP 24545 comprised in part cancelled Record of Title NA642/236 is held in fee simple by Auckland Council and is classified recreation reserve subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
The Titirangi Badminton Club Incorporated owns and manages the building(s) and has a ground lease with Auckland Council. The building serves as a purpose-built badminton club, providing a space for sporting activities, events and community gatherings.
The proposed new community lease is for a term of 10 years with one 10-year right of renewal in accordance with the Auckland Council’s Community Occupancy Guidelines (updated June 2023).
