A food control plan sets out the steps for food businesses to follow to make kai that is safe to eat.

Businesses making or selling higher-risk foods are more likely to register under a food control plan.

There are two types of food control plans:

Template food control plans - built from templates provided by the Ministry of Primary Industries.
Custom food control plans - where you create your own plan and is registered by the Ministry of Primary Industries.
