You need an outdoor dining licence for all outdoor dining areas on public land. These licences need to be renewed annually. To renew a licence, you need to reapply. Email hosposupport@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz or complete the support request form if you want help or advice on starting a new cafe or restaurant.

Smokefree requirements and signs for outdoor dining spaces
If your restaurant, bar or café has an outdoor dining licence, that space must now be smokefree. You can also get smokefree signs for your outdoor dining areas.
