Panmure Basin
Also known as Panmure Lagoon

100 Ireland Road, Mount Wellington

About Panmure Basin

Panmure Basin is a tidal estuary within a volcanic crater (also known as a maar). The wide, sealed and mostly flat path around the basin is pram-friendly and ideal for scooters. The basin is home to the Lagoon Pool and Leisure Centre.

Access the car parks from Cleary and Ireland roads. Pedestrians can also access from Cove Lane, Lagoon Drive, and through Waipuna Foreshore. The Ireland Road car park gates are open 6am to 10pm. The Peterson Road entrance gates are open 6am to 10pm in summer, and 6am to 8pm in winter.

Three playgrounds, miniature train rides, toilets (including accessible), car park, fitness equipment, skating features, picnic tables and seating, and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Follow the Panmure Basin Path around the lagoon.
