About Blockhouse Bay Recreation Reserve

This reserve has a great variety of recreation opportunities with good walking tracks and bridges throughout the park.

Along the way you'll see native and exotic deciduous trees and can try the exercise stations and stretching equipment. The kids will enjoy the playground and open spaces.

Access from Terry, Exminster and Rathlin streets. Gates are open 7am to 9pm daily. Pedestrians can also access from Whitney Street. Gates open 7am to 9pm daily.

A playground, toilets and changing rooms, car park (with mobility parking), sports fields, volleyball court, fitness equipment, picnic tables and seating, barbecues and drinking fountains are inside the park.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Alcohol

Alcohol is banned from some public places in Auckland. Visit Alcohol bans to find out the rules for each park and view ban maps.

Smokefree parks

Our parks are all smokefree.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.

Outdoor fires

It is illegal to light open fires in public areas in the Auckland region.
