Ngahere is the traditional name for the bay (Ngahere Bay) that is adjacent to this reserve. Ngahere means bush or forest. Ngahere ki uta can be translated as the 'forest inland from the coast'.

This playground has an ocean theme with stingray, orca whale and other sea creatures embedded into the rubber undersurfacing.

Two main play modulars have a tower with slide and fireman pole, suited to older children.

Younger children will enjoy the obstacle course. They can move from one end to the other and eventually down a slide or ladder.

A fabulous addition to the playground in the saturn carousel. The four-person rotating swing spins around a central pole, letting riders soar through the air like superheroes.

The skate park offers wheeled play experiences for skaters, scooters and bikes.

The basketball courts can be used as three half-courts or one full court and a half-court. There is no shortage of space for a game or a casual session shooting hoops.
