About Birkenhead War Memorial Park

This park is located close to Birkenhead's centre, and accommodates multiple sports and recreation activities.

Access from Recreation Drive, Mahara Avenue and John Court Street.

A playground, toilets and changing rooms, car park, picnic tables and seating, cricket nets and pitches, rugby fields, BMX pump track, skatepark and walking tracks are inside the park.

Accessible features at this park

The main path into the park is wide, flat and concrete.

Accessible toilets are available between the entrance and playground, and inside the pool and leisure centre.

You can access the skate park via an elevator inside the adjacent pool and leisure centre. The trail through the bush is accessible through the kauri dieback stations. However, parts of the park have steep gradients, especially past the pump track and near the clubhouse and RSA.

The park is home to the Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre, Birkenhead RSA, Scouts and Early Childhood Centre.

Animals

Dogs must be on leash at all times in our parks unless otherwise stated in the dog walking section.

Waste

Use bins where provided to dispose of your rubbish. If there are no bins take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.
