This large multi-purpose sports park is over six hectares, and is in a predominantly residential area. It is bounded by Oranga and Roosevelt avenues, and Waitangi and Namata roads.
Natural rock outcrops occur in places in the western and southern parts of the reserve. There is a large rocky outcrop adjacent to Melville Place being a particularly significant landscape feature.
The park is home to Fergusson Hall, Oranga Community Centre, Oranga Plunket Clinic, Oranga Kindergarten and the Te Papapa Squash Club.
Access the car park from Olea and Waitangi roads. Pedestrians can also access from Hull and Melville places, Namata Road, and Roosevelt Avenue.
A playground, toilets (accessible toilets at the community centre), car park (including mobility), netball courts, tennis court, sports fields, picnic tables and seating are inside the park.
