Starts at 16 Ronwood Avenue, Manukau
Hayman Park is a peaceful retreat steps from the Manukau Train and Bus Station, MIT Campus and Manukau Town Centre.
This short stroll takes you around the outside of Hayman Park. The sealed path is accessible, with wheelchair ramps from Lambie Drive. There's also a path through the centre of the park which passes by the scenic pond. Kids (and big kids!) will love spotting ducks.
This is a perfect walk if you have time to spare during your lunch break, while waiting for your train or bus, or want a break from studying.
Art fans can take a short detour to view the neon light artwork 'Night / I Love You' (Lonnie Hutchinson, 2015). Find this on the multi-storey carpark at the northern end of Davies Street. Just continue walking up Davies Street towards the intersection, rather than following the path into Hayman Park.
After your walk, find a spot under one of the shady trees to enjoy lunch and read a book. There is also a skatepark at the northern end of the park which is popular with older kids and teens.
