Kauri Glen Path

Discover this 1.5km out-and-back trail near Birkenhead, Auckland. An easy route taking around 20 minutes to complete, it is popular for both walking and running, with quieter times offering moments of peace. Open all year, this trail is beautiful in any season. Dogs are welcome but must stay on a lead.

Marvel at the boardwalk in Kauri Glen Reserve as it stretches 60 metres and rises 18 metres above the ground, offering a breathtaking view of the forest canopy. Supported by three glulam timber bridges, it grants visitors a rare perspective on one of Auckland’s densest kauri forests, featuring some trees up to 400 years old.

Designed to prevent kauri dieback and improve accessibility, this peaceful greenway is a vital community space, offering a scenic escape while supporting flood control and safe school routes.
