Blockhouse Bay is picturesque, peaceful and boasts a network of walking tracks.
This walk begins at the beach reserve, which is perfect for picnics, paddling and bird watching. It passes through native bush, emerging at the top of the hill onto Taurapa /Taunton Terrace Reserve Road. This section of the walk has views across the Manukau harbour, and takes in the area's peaceful streets.
The walk then explores Flounder Bay, and at low tide, you can walk along the rocks back to Sandy Bay. From here, you can take the sealed track back to Blockhouse Bay Road, and on to Blockhouse Bay Beach.
