Tōtara Park is home to a network of walking tracks through native forests.
You can look out for kauri, pūriri, rimu and tōtara trees, home to a wide range of native birdlife, including kererū (woodpigeon), tūī and pīwakawaka (fantail).
The park is also home to a network of streams, which are being replanted with native trees as part of an ongoing regeneration project.
There are picnic tables, tennis courts, swimming pools and an adventure playground at the park as well.
The tracks take 20-45 minutes to complete.
The walks are relatively easy, with steps at steep points and footbridges across streams.
There are a range of mountain biking trails at the north eastern end of the park, as well as a bridle trail.
All routes are shown on the information board at the entrance at 90R Wairere Road.
