Where you can visit farm animals in the Auckland region

Our tip

When visiting farm animals, remember to:

follow any safety signs
respect restricted areas
avoid walking between young animals and their mothers
leave gates as you find them.

Ambury Farm

The farm animals at Ambury Farm include:

sheep
goats
cows
pigs
pet lambs (in season)
chickens
turkey
rabbits
peacocks.

Grassy lanes between the animal enclosures help you get up close to the animals safely.

You can also go into the paddocks to mingle with the animals, except during lambing season (mid-July and early August).

Between mid-July and early December, dairy cows are milked once a day at around 10am.

This milk is used to feed the calves and pigs between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Anawhata Farm

Anawhata Farm is home to sheep and cows.

Ātiu Creek

Ātiu Creek is a working farm so you may meet cattle, calves, sheep and lambs during your visit.

You are free to wander through the paddocks where farm animals graze.

Ōmana Regional Park

Ōmana has sheep, chickens and goats.

During lambing there is the opportunity to feed the lambs. Call 09 536 6007 to check the feeding times.

There is also a chance to experience park rangers moving sheep flocks with the farm dogs.
