How to change an accommodation booking
- Rescheduling or changing your booking is subject to availability.
- You cannot reschedule a booking if the original booking date has passed.
Charges for changing an accommodation booking
You can make unlimited changes to your booking free of charge (except for bank fees) up to 12 midnight, two days before your arrival date. For example, if your booking starts on Friday, you have until 11:59pm on Tuesday to make changes.
If you make changes within two days of your arrival, we will charge a 20 per cent administration fee based on the total booking cost.

Charges for cancelling your booking
You can cancel your booking online for a full refund (minus bank fees) up to 12 midnight, two days before your arrival date. For example, if your booking starts on Monday, you have until 11:59pm on Friday to cancel.
If you cancel within two days of your arrival, you will not receive a refund.
Refunds for cancelled bookings
We may consider a refund:
- if the accommodation was not available
- if the accommodation was closed or shut down before your booking started or during your booking
- in cases of demonstrated hardship or illness.
To apply for a refund email regionalparks@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz within five working days of the booking cancellation.
Refunds will be paid to the account used to make the booking.
We do not refund:
- bank convenience fees
- camping passes
- vouchers.
For all other products, we will meet our obligations under the relevant acts.
