A large piece of debris from the Christmas shipwreck is exposed in the water at Ocean Beach (Tāwharanui’s north coast, west of Anchor Bay), creating a hazard for swimmers.
Avoid swimming near the shipwreck site and follow all instructions from signage and park rangers.
We use traps and poisonous baits across the park to control animal pests. Do not touch traps, bait or bait stations.
Please follow the instructions on signs, and from our park rangers and contractors.
Main park gates are open from 6am to 9pm during daylight savings hours and 6am to 7pm during non-daylight saving hours.
