Local board plans are strategic, three-year plans that are developed in consultation with the community.
What local board plans do
Local board plans:
- guide funding and investment decisions for the next three years
- set the direction for each local area by reflecting community priorities and preferences.
They also influence local board input on regional strategies and plans, including:
- the Auckland Plan 2050 (the 30-year vision for Auckland)
- the 10-year Budget 2021-2031 (Long-term Plan)
- the Annual Budget 2023-2024.

Our local boards adopted their current local board plans in 2023. They will adopt new plans in 2026.
