Mahere o Newton me Eden Terrace Newton and Eden Terrace Plan

The Newton and Eden Terrace Plan provides a framework for growth and change of the area over the next 20 to 30 years.

The Waitematā Local Board worked with the Albert Eden Local Board and communities to develop a plan for the future growth, development and investment of the Newton and Eden Terrace area.

Since the Newton and Eden Terrace Plan was adopted in 2016:

• funding has been committed to improvements in Basque Park and the board sponsored a bands in parks event
• the Uptown Innovation Hub was trialled in property earmarked for future City Rail Link construction and this project is no longer to be continued
• improvements have been made to the cycle route along the northern portion of Ian McKinnon Drive, connecting it to the Northwestern shared path
• the board continues to support the Organic Market Garden (OMG) at 254 Symonds Street.

With the imminent construction of the City Rail Link Project many actions of the Newton and Eden Terrace Plan will be started.
