This plan's purpose is ‘enabling a more regenerative and inclusive economy for the people and wellbeing of Tāmaki Makaurau’.

It provides a coordinated reference point for the Auckland Council group’s contribution to Auckland’s economic development over the next three years.

The EDAP was adopted in July 2021 and takes its direction from important strategies including:

• The Auckland Plan 2050
• Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland's Climate Plan
• Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau: Council’s Māori outcomes framework.

The EDAP will be monitored and reported on annually.
