Te Mahere Matua mō Te Kumete Hākinakina o Manukau Manukau Sports Bowl Masterplan

The Manukau Sports Bowl Masterplan sets out:

• the historical, cultural, environmental and recreational values of the park
• existing buildings, structures, facilities and clubs based at the park
• current park constraints and opportunities
• the consultation process to create the masterplan
• key design principles to guide park development
• a long-term spatial plan and implementation plan showing how the park can be improved.

We want Manukau Sports Bowl to be:

• an inviting and inclusive destination park for everyone in the community.

Manukau Sports Bowl Masterplan will guide long-term improvements to the park, including:

• improve connectivity to park and to key features within it
• provide opportunities for the local community to meet, learn, develop, participate and have fun
• protect and enhance the natural environment
• improve the park as a recreation destination
• create an environmentally sustainable park.

We want to include:

• new sports and recreational facilities, including an athletics track, indoor courts and velodrome upgrades
• play spaces for children and youth, including outdoor courts, a splash pad and pump track
• new cycling and walking tracks
• consolidated car parking areas and road improvements
• wetland restoration and planting programmes
• signage, lighting and wayfinding.
