The Waiheke Local Park Management Plan covers 125 local parks on Waiheke that are owned or managed by Auckland Council.
It does not include Rangihoua Reserve and Onetangi Sports Park, which have a separate reserve management plan.
The plan provides a policy framework that will guide decision-making for these parks over the next 10 years.

The first round of public consultation on the draft Waiheke Local Park Management Plan finished on 20 February 2019.
We received comments from 120 individuals or organisations. These came via Social Pinpoint, our online feedback form and by email.
The second round of public consultation finished on 16 May 2022. We received 74 submissions. These came via our online and printed feedback forms and by email.
We held a hearing on 22 November 2022 where the panel heard 15 verbal submissions.
We also engaged with mana whenua and met with Te Piritahi Marae.
This plan was adopted by Waiheke Local Board on 26 July 2023.
