We are building New Zealand's first fully sustainable sports park at Scott Point. Read about the Te Kori Scott Point public park project, the progress made and related documents and newsletters.
Over the next few years, we expect around 20,000 new residents to call Scott Point, and neighbouring Hobsonville, their home.
We are building a new public park to meet the needs of this growing community. Te Kori Scott Point (formerly Scott Point Sustainable Sports Park) will be at the heart of the new Scott Point development. It will be New Zealand’s first fully sustainable sports park.
This 16.4 hectare park will be made up of three main sections, each designed for:
We designed the park in partnership with local iwi to provide benefit to current and future generations, as well as the environment.
This will be the first fully sustainable park in New Zealand.
We made a number of design decisions with sustainability in mind. For example, rainwater will be captured from the sports fields and car parks, before being cleaned and used to water the turf and gardens.
Te Kori Scott Point received a 'Leading design rating' award from the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) in 2021.
We will apply elements of its design, development, management and governance to parks across Tāmaki Makaurau to improve regionwide sustainability.
Our masterplan includes detailed information about this project.

When we complete Stage 1b, two sports fields will be available for play bookings. The remaining three areas will be available to use as open park spaces.
We will complete more work on these spaces and build a baseball diamond when funds are available.
