About the project
We are upgrading Boundary Reserve to improve stormwater and wastewater networks in the area.
The upgrade will provide the stormwater and wastewater capacity needed to:
- support urban growth and development
- protect against potential flooding.
Project timeline
- Stage 1 started in late April 2025 and was completed in November 2025.
- Stage 2 is expected to start later in 2026.
Stages of the project
Stage 1
In stage 1, we:
- improved the wastewater pipe in Boundary Reserve and extended it to Dunkirk Road
- extended the existing stormwater infrastructure from Torino Road to Boundary Reserve.
Stage 2
In stage 2, we will:
- uncover the stormwater pipes to create a natural stream
- increase stormwater capacity and restore biodiversity in the area
- plant native plants on the stream banks to help protect them from erosion
- create a new playground at the western end of the stream
- reshape the north-facing slopes to create a flat space suitable for informal activities like picnics, walking and playing frisbee
- build a new bridge across the stream
- improve safety at the park by adding clear sightlines at the entrance and within the reserve.
