We are replacing the stormwater culvert A stormwater pipe not connected to the main stormwater system. These are normally used under roads or driveways. on the southern end of Paerata Road with a 12-metre-long bridge across Whangapouri Creek.
We are building the bridge in two halves to keep traffic flowing in both directions.
Building the bridge in this way will take longer but will provide continued access for all road users.

We began this project in April 2024 and expected to finish it in spring 2025. The work was delayed when we found unexpected utility services that we needed to relocate.
We now expect to finish works in February 2026.
Works will mostly take place Monday to Saturday between 7.30am and 6.30pm.
