Te whakahou wai ua i Te Kūiti Te Atatū Te Atatū Peninsula stormwater upgrade

This project will reduce the risk of flooding and provide infrastructure necessary for future growth.

We will deliver the Te Atatū Peninsula stormwater upgrade programme in seven stages over the next ten years as funding becomes available.

We will:

• extend the water network to serve new and future housing developments
• increase stormwater capacity to help reduce the risk of flooding
• enable properties not currently served by public stormwater facilities to connect to the stormwater network.

Stages of the programme

Stages one to five of the programme are currently on hold. We will provide more information on these stages when we continue work on the designs.

We are now finalising designs for stages six and seven. These stages include:

• upgrading stormwater pipes that discharge into the network on Bridgens Avenue and River Road
• upgrading the pipes on these roads to increase stormwater flow and stop erosion
• increased planting around the outfall An outfall is the point where water or waste exits a system, like a river merging with a larger body of water. points to soak up and filter water.
