We are building Te Whau Pathway to connect the Waitematā and Manukau harbours. This includes a boardwalk and concrete path along the Whau River.

The project was paused in December 2022 while additional funding options were investigated.
The project received an additional $14 million of grant funding from the government and $4.8 million from Auckland Council. We are using these funds to complete the build between State Highway 16 (Northwestern Cycleway) and Roberts Field in Te Atatu South.
HEB Construction (HEB) is our building contractor.
HEB is currently building two sections of the boardwalk:
These sections are expected to be completed in 2026.
We do not currently have funding for the Rizal Crossing section of the pathway.
