Waste minimisation programmes

Compost Collective

Compost Collective is a collaborative project aimed at reducing household organic waste through home composting.

It is delivered in partnership with Ecomatters Environment Trust  and the Kaipātiki Project.

Compost Collective offers free workshops across Auckland and participants are eligible for discounts on a composting system to best suit their needs.

Visit the Compost Collective website for more information.

Zero Waste Events

Zero Waste Events provides support for event organisers looking to minimise waste.

Zero Waste advisors provide free advice and can work with your vendors to reduce their waste.

A variety of free loan equipment is available to help educate attendees and minimise waste sent to a landfill.

Community events in Auckland are eligible for assistance through the Zero Waste Events grant.

Visit Zero Waste Events for more information.

Waste-free parenting

'Cloth Nappies, Parenting and More' workshops

These workshops explain how to use cloth nappies and other reusable baby products. They include advice on:

  • which nappies are suitable for your baby
  • how to wash cloth nappies
  • how disposable nappies can affect the environment
  • how to reduce waste in your household.

The workshops are 90 minutes and cost $10 for an individual or couple. This fee includes one free cloth nappy pack worth $60 per family.

We run some workshops in conjunction with other events, so costs may vary.

Visit Waste-Ed with Kate for more information including workshop dates, locations and bookings.
